Our Vetting Process

TimePlan is committed to child protection and safer recruitment in education and has 13 standard vetting procedures.  Evidence of all checks are scanned and recorded on our database.

TickA face to face interview.

TickIdentification check – against a passport, national ID card or photo driving licence and, where necessary, sight of marriage and divorce certificates.

TickDate of birth check – against a passport, national ID card or photo driving licence.

TickProof of address – recent utility bill.

TickQualifications verification – sight of originals or verification with the issuing institution.

TickTwo independent professional references – one from a candidate’s most recent employer or place of study.  Open references and testimonials are verified with the referee.

TickRight to work – passports are checked for the right to work in the UK.

TickCV check – CVs must be complete and any gaps must be accounted for.

TickCriminal records check (UK and overseas if applicable) – all candidates must complete an Enhanced Disclosure and all candidates from overseas, or anyone who has worked overseas, must have a current police clearance from the relevant country.

TickDisqualification by Association – all relevant staff in relevant settings must be asked to complete a childcare disqualification declaration affirming that they are not disqualified.

TickBarred List Search check – as part of the recruitment process and then annually.

TickDfE number (or overseas equivalent if applicable) – for qualified teachers.

TickMedical fitness to teach – completed for all teachers and support staff.
