New board appointed for Teachers TV

A new board has been appointed by the government to take charge of the successful Teachers TV.
Adam Singer will chair the board, accompanied by Martin Blakstad, Janie Grace, Charles Newstead and Sarah Thane.
Hailing from a variety of fields in media and broadcasting, Mr Newstead is the only serving teacher.
Currently headteacher at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Merseyside, he has been teaching for 20 years.
He will now use his experience to help develop the television channel that is specially dedicated to the teaching profession.
Noting his delight at his appointment, Mr Singer stated: "Since it started broadcasting … Teachers TV has established itself as a key provider of educational training to the schools workforce in England."
Launched in 2005, Teachers TV is now available 24-hours a day on satellite, cable and digital networks, as well as online.
Scheduled programmes include those that are related to continual professional development and specialist areas, as well as documentaries and popular series.
