Teachers are 'Last Choir Standing'

A singing group consisting of a number of teachers have had success in the UK, finishing top in a nationwide competition to find a choir.

Televised on BBC One, Last Choir Standing was a weekly competition with a group voted off by the public each week.

And the final at the weekend saw Only Men Aloud! take the top spot.

But now the 18 members of the group have headed back to their native Wales and many of them will be back in the classroom this week, reports the BBC.

However, they are still waiting to find out if they can secure a record deal and release an album on the back of their television success.

The choir's musical director Tim Rhys-Evans told the new source that he hopes the members can fit their day job around fulfilling their singing dream.

Some of the youngest competitors in the programme were the Common Room Choir, made up of a group of sixth-formers, although they failed to make it through the heats.
