Fremington school's progress commended by Ofsted
February 17 2010
Education watchdog Ofsted has praised a school in Fremington for its steady progress, a local news report has said.
Fremington Community Primary and Nursery School has been rated a "satisfactory and steadily improving school" in a recent inspection carried out by inspector Graeme Sherfield, the North Devon Gazette has reported.
Ofsted commended head teacher Phil Cloke and his staff for working successfully to maintain the school's caring and friendly environment.
"Parents, governors and staff have been pleased with the report, particularly as it acknowledges many of the school's strengths, such as its caring environment, good teaching and pupil behaviour," commented Mr Cloke.
In other news, staff and pupils at a York primary school are celebrating after being awarded an "outstanding" grade by government inspectors, according to a local news report.
Clifton Green Primary School has been commended by Ofsted for the way it teaches the subject of English to pupils, the York Press has reported.
