Exeter nursery declared 'outstanding'
March 09 2010
A nursery school in Exeter is in a celebratory mood after it received a glowing Ofsted report, according to a local news report.
Education inspectors declared Tic Tocs Day Nursery in Haldon Road, St David's, "outstanding," an improvement compared to its 2007 inspection when it was found to be good with outstanding features, the Express and Echo has reported.
Ofsted inspector Julie Neal said children made "consistently excellent progress towards the early learning and development goals" because "staff use their observations of children exceptionally well to develop highly individualised learning plans for each child."
She commended the nursery's "dynamic leadership and management" and was impressed with the way mealtimes were used to encourage social skills.
In other news, staff and pupils at a York primary school are celebrating after being awarded an "outstanding" grade by government inspectors, according to a local news report.
Clifton Green Primary School has been commended by Ofsted for the way it teaches the subject of English to pupils, the York Press has reported.
