Cleaners offer children hygiene tips
August 26 2009
The UK Cleaning Products Industry Association (UKCPI) has produced a new teaching pack to help educate children about washing their hands.
Because of the recent spread of swine flu, it is more important than ever that workers in teaching jobs in Oxfordshire and around the UK help children with their hygiene.
The teaching resource is in the form of a handy pack: Hooray for Handwashing.
It explains to children how they can stop the spread of dangerous bacteria and informs them of basic hygiene facts.
The UKCPI explains with a useful rhyme that germs get on your hands "from touching what's dirty like stuff on the ground, from toilets and hankies and things that you've found".
Chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson has said there are no national plans to close schools at the start of the new term as a precaution against the spread of swine flu.
