Financial support for struggling Paisley teachers
May 10 2010
Paisley teachers struggling with their finances can now benefit from a new online and telephone support network, a local news report has said.
According to the Paisley Daily Express, educational staff facing debt problems can call 0800 564 2270 or visit the website at www.turn2us.org.uk to get financial help.
The move comes after financial experts from Turn2us joined forces with Teacher Support Scotland to start the round-the-clock support service.
"Teachers are not exempt from falling into financial hardship and they should know that they do not need to suffer alone as help is available," Alison Taylor, director of Turn2us, told the publication.
She noted a total of £16.8billion of welfare benefits went unclaimed between 2007 and 2008 and added that at present there are more than 3,500 charitable funds listed on the site.
In other news, parenting website Mumsnet and consumer campaigner Martin Lewis have launched an online petition calling for pupils to be taught about money at school, according to The Guardian.
