Remarkable sporting success for Sutton primary school
May 14 2010
A primary school in Sutton is in a celebratory mood after it achieved extraordinary sporting success, a local news report has said.
According to the Croydon Guardian, pupils at Foresters primary school scored triumphs in several different sports this year, making the school one of the borough's top centres for sporting excellence.
The school's sport successes include its football team winning the Sutton primary school football league and its cyclists winning the Sutton cycling championship for the first time.
"Although the sporting successes have been great, the real achievements are the sheer number of pupils who are enjoying taking part in a whole host of different sports," head teacher Havard Spring was quoted as saying by the publication.
In other news, Mill Water, a special needs school in Devon, has been awarded the gold prize for singing from Sing Up! - a national singing scheme as part of the Music Manifesto - according to the Express and Echo.
