World Cup 'inspires Devon pupils'

The Fifa World Cup may be taking place in South Africa, but children in the UK are also benefiting from the tournament.
Pupils at Honiton Primary School in Devon have been taking part in a host of special events and activities designed to inspire them and open their eyes to other cultures, thisisdevon.co.uk reports.
Year five teacher Gilly Linnane said pupils of all ages have been involved.
"In the afternoon some of our older pupils helped teach our nursery and foundation children football skills to encourage them to play football and watch the World Cup matches," she explained.
Youngsters have also made collages of players, as well as a clay sculpture of the World Cup trophy.
The football theme has even been incorporated into maths classes, with children discussing stadium capacity.
In related news, Olympic gold medal winner Sir Chris Hoy recently launched National Sports Week in Scotland - an event that encouraged kids to try activities they have not experienced before.
