Southampton primary set for total rebuild

A Southampton primary school is set to benefit from a £7.5 million rebuild.
Council bossed have given approval for Newlands Primary School to be expanded to cater for 420 pupils.
According to the Southern Daily Echo, the school is a top priority because classes are currently taking place in 1950s prefabricated buildings.
Local councillor Paul Holmes told the newspaper: "It's excellent news that we are able to move on with this important project. This is a demonstration of our commitment to improving school buildings in the city and shows that the council is still investing in Southampton's schools.
"The new building will be a great asset for the wider community in Millbrook as well as an inspirational learning environment for our young people."
Meanwhile, Peterborough City Council revealed earlier this month that it has given the go ahead for a new £7.5 million primary school.
