High school opens up for science fair

Walton High School in Stafford is opening its doors to the public next month for its annual community science fair.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a stargazing session in the school's planetarium and enjoy everything from maths challenges and hands-on activities, the Sentinel reports.
"As a specialist science school Walton High is keen to promote science and engage students in the subject," science teacher Natalie Smith told the publication.
"This annual event, which has been running for several years now, is always popular both with students and the wider community."
She added that events like this make learning fun for everyone and enable parents and children to take part in activities together.
Meanwhile, pupils at the nearby Endon Hall Primary School swapped their uniforms for Victorian costumes last week when they stepped back in time for a history day.
A spokesperson for the school told the Sentinel that the aim of the day was to bring the subject to life for students.
