Bath pupils step back to Georgian times
February 24 2011
Pupils from one Bath primary school stepped back in time this week when they hosted a special Georgian art day.
The Year 4 students from Combe Down Primary School spent two days making a large collage replicating a Georgian theatre, the Bath Chronicle reports.
The creative project was organised and paid for by the school's PTA.
Parent Lucy Eves told the newspaper: "It was great fun and the children really enjoyed the event.
"Their topic this term was to study the life and architecture of the Georgian era so it was important that their end-of-term art project captured all of this and allowed the children to share all that they had learned."
Parents were invited to see the children's work, with pupils also dressing in traditional Georgian costumes.
In related news, youngsters from Woodlands Park Primary School in Devon went back to Roman times earlier this month, swapping their uniforms for costumes and learning to play traditional musical instruments.
