Teaching in London receives funding boost

Teaching at Barnet College in London has received a boost in the form of an £80,000 grant to help encourage extra learning in the area, a report has revealed.
According to local news provider This is Local London, the college has been given a grant of some £80,000 to help encourage adult learning in the community.
Disadvantaged communities are set to benefit from the scheme, which will focus on teaching in the creative and cultural sectors.
Director of adult learning and skills for life at Barnet College Susanne Stent told the news provider: "We are very excited to launch this project, which will have a huge impact for adults in the Barnet borough."
She added that the project will focus on those who find formal learning environments difficult to access – such as young adults, long-term unemployed and mental health service users.
Barnet College offers a range of vocational, academic, professional and recreational courses.
