Conference to explore making teaching more inspiring
October 29 2009
A conference is to take place in Edinburgh to explore ways in which lecturing by those in teaching jobs at one of the city's universities can be made more interesting.
The Inspiring Teaching Conference event will be held by the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) on Wednesday November 11th.
Both staff and students are invited to pay a visit and share their views, the Journal reports.
Presentations will also be given by winners at Edinburgh's inaugural teaching awards, Elizabeth Bomberg and Richard Milne.
"Across the University of Edinburgh there are some truly excellent examples of lecturing, tutoring and feedback," commented Evan Beswick, EUSA vice-president of academic affairs, who is organising the event.
"The problem is that this doesn't happen right across the institution," he told the publication.
It was recently announced that those teaching in Scotland would be able to access a new resource in the form of website Scotland's History Online.
