Primary teachers praised

Teachers at one primary school in Cornwall have been praised in a recent Ofsted report.

Gwinear Primary School near Hayle in Cornwall has been awarded an "outstanding" Ofsted report, local news provider This is the West Country stated.

Inspectors noted that pupils succeed in making good progress thanks to the "excellent teaching which always challenges them to do better," the newspaper said.

Commenting on the report, headteacher Helen Scholes told the paper: "Very special thanks go to the wonderful team of staff, who enable each child to achieve their very best and who provide an amazing wealth of opportunities for the children."

She added that the school was "thrilled" to receive the report and that teaching staff are all proud of the children.

Ofsted inspects a range of different educational establishments, including primary and secondary schools, boarding schools and special schools. It also regulates and inspects different child care providers.
