New masters available for teachers
December 11 2009
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has made available to experienced teachers a new qualification entitled Masters in Teaching and Learning (MTL).
"The MTL marks the start of a new era of teaching and learning opportunities for schools, bringing together the best aspects of professional development from the world's top performing education systems," Graham Holley, chief executive at the TDA, said.
Mr Holley went on to say that the new qualification could potentially institute a "culture of lifelong learning and peer support in schools", which could maximise the potential for both students and teachers. He also said that teachers enrolling in this course will be able to expand their professional life and also play a crucial role in helping the rest of their team develop as well.
In other news, teachers in Brighton were celebrating their school being one of the 100 top schools for the the level of student improvement between the ages of seven and 11.
