Doncaster school celebrates Ofsted report
December 29 2009
A school in Crowle, near Doncaster, is in celebratory mood following the results of its Ofsted inspection, according to a local newspaper report.
St Norbert's Catholic Primary received an overall grade of good and was graded as "outstanding" in 11 areas, the report added.
"I want to thank the school community for its wonderful team-work and the community of Crowle for their support. We will continue to aim for outstanding," headteacher Pam Tonge was quoted as saying by the Star.
In other news, a school in Manchester which was known for its truancy record has been identified as one of the best in the UK thanks to the help of a full-time attendance officer, according to a press report.
Absenteeism at St Peter's secondary school in Gorton was one of the worst in the country in 2004 with levels at 15 per cent, but thanks to attendance officer Geoff May that's no longer the case, the news provider added.
