Teacher taster course at University of Chester
July 07 2008
Those interested in pursuing a career in teaching in England could opt to enroll in a brand new course at the University of Chester.
Part of the Training and Development Agency for Schools funded initiative to recruit more teachers to the education sector, the programme gives people the chance to get a taste for the profession, reports the Chester Evening Leader.
The programme targets graduates who are interested in teaching priority subjects including maths, modern foreign languages, religious education and science.
Entitled the Secondary School Teaching Taster Course, it will be held free of charge in mid-October.
"This course will appeal to anyone thinking about a challenging career change and who has ambition to become a teacher and will help participants match their qualifications to the needs of a teacher-training programme," Graham Martin of the faculty of education and children's services told the paper.
Bath Spa University recently announced the launch of a new master's in educational assessment.
