Tasteless task for Thamesmead teachers

Teachers at a Shepperton school proved sporting participants when pupils designed a tasteless task for them.

School staff at Thamesmead rose to the challenge when their students replicated a challenge from popular ITV show I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, reports Staines News.

In a bid to raise money to fund the final production of their Btec acting course, the students created a food-related 'Bushtucker' trial for their teachers.

Staff were challenged to eat combinations of food including tobasco-marinated lemon, chocolate-covered garlic gloves and jelly with kidney beans.

Money raised from those watching the challenge will help fund costumes and set for the students' summer play.

"The event was a great success and was thoroughly entertaining for all the spectators who watched the menu being tackled and we raised £120," teacher Claire Marris told the paper.

Meanwhile, a number of teachers from across the country are gearing up for the London Marathon this weekend, including Monkseaton Community High School deputy head Howard Kemp, according to the News Guardian.
