TimePlan turns 20!

In 1989, there was a certain George Bush Sr who was making himself at home in the Whitehouse; the Exxon Valdez spilled a quarter of a million gallons of crude oil in Alaska’s Prince William Sound and Rain Man cleaned up at the Oscars.

Elsewhere, in a corner of North London, three people started UK’s first ever teaching agency. Ian Penman, Tish Seabourne and Christopher King all decided that the acute teacher shortage, which had been troubling the UK for years, could be better dealt with than the attempts made by the UK’s Local Education Authorities. Thus, TimePlan Education was born in April of 1989, 20 years ago! Since then we have proudly helped over 70,000 teachers across the world find their perfect teaching job in the UK.

There are now scores of recruitment agencies in the UK, both large and small, who also recruit teachers. However, we feel that no one matches our focus of providing the highest quality of service to both our teachers and schools. Moreover, we remain at the forefront of ensuring that only the highest quality teaching staff work in our schools.

If you would like to read about some of our overseas teachers who are living and working in the UK and view their comments about teaching with TimePlan, then check out our Teacher Profiles

If you would like to send us your stories and experiences of working with TimePlan then you could be helping us to celebrate our 20th birthday with a bottle of bubbly! We have a bottle of champagne to give away to the writers of the three best articles which will feature in future newsletters!

Please send your tales of TimePlan along to ben.lewis@timeplan.net.
