New Zealand
TimePlan is visiting New Zealand with Sir Paul Grant, a Principal from East London, to hold professional development / information sessions for teachers and educationalists in New Zealand. He will also be conducting interviews while he is in New Zealand. These interviews are for teachers who are interested in teaching in the UK from September 2010.
In 1997, Sir Paul Grant was appointed Principal of Robert Clack School situated in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. At the time of his appointment the school was dangerously close to being designated as a failing school by OfSTED (equivalent of ERO in NZ). By implementing a strict disciplinary procedure and high expectations, he has managed to turn Robert Clack into one of the top 10 state schools in the UK.
In 2009 Sir Paul Grant was bestowed the highest honour when he was knighted by the Queen for his contribution to both local and national education.
