A great opportunity has arisen for a History teacher at a secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. The school is seeking to appoint a History teacher to teach within their vibrant department. The successful candidate will teach History to GSCE level standard on a part-time basis for 8 weeks starting from the end of September. The position requires a secondary teacher with experience and knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4 History curriculums.

School and Location

This small independent secondary school is on the outskirts of Southampton and is easily accessible from the M27. It is very proud of its ethos and the teachers strive to maintain high standards of learning. Class sizes are small, comprising of approximately 10 students. Pupil behaviour is of the highest standard and parental support is excellent. The school boasts very good facilities and due its success and popularity, it has recently expanded and opened its junior section in September 2009.

All applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

* be UK qualified or hold a recognised teaching qualification

* have prior experience of teaching History to Key Stage 3 and 4

* be qualified to teach History to GSCE level standard

* have current GTC registration

* be available for face to face interview.
