Job Description

Experienced Year 2 Teacher Required!

TimePlan has been requested to find a strong Year 2 teacher to commence full time with one of our client schools in Loughton, Essex. This is an immediate start for the right candidate. This is a classroom based role in a school with a fantastic new management team.

This Year 2 teaching job would suit an experienced Year 2 practitioner who is looking to join a forward-thinking team, all of whom are driven to provide the best educational experience for all students at the school.

The school is above average in size. The majority of pupils come from White British backgrounds but about a fifth of pupils are from minority ethnic groups, with a growing number coming from Eastern Europe. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is below that seen nationally. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is broadly average. Activemark and Investors in People awards continue to be held.

The Foundation Stage consists of the Nursery Department which is a self contained unit within the school consisting of three activity bases, a fenced hard and soft play area and access to the courtyard and the Reception year which is two adjacent classrooms with a fenced hard and soft play area. The Key Stage 1 Department has four rooms used by Years one and two which were built in 1996. All Key Stage 1 classes have doors to the play area and integral toilets. The Key Stage 2 Department has eight classrooms. There is a large hard play area with a fenced area for football and netball.

Each of the classes has a garden area. The playing field is used for football, rugby, cricket and athletics. During the summer it is also used as a play area. Throughout the grounds trees and shrubs are planted. Different habitats have been developed in hedgerows, butterfly gardens, ponds, a wild area and woodland. The whole site is used to enhance the children’s environment and facilitate their learning.
