Job Description

Teacher of English Language and Literature – Maternity Cover

TimePlan has been requested to find a Teacher of English Lang. & Lit. who is available from Easter 2012.

The client school is based in Norfolk not too far from Great Yarmouth on the Norfolk coast. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new and energetic departmental team.

For the English Teaching job, the school is looking for a strong, confident teacher to take on the role of a maternity cover teacher.

This is a great opportunity for either an experienced UK trained teacher, or a strong, dynamic and motivated overseas trained teacher who has UK classroom experience to work in a revitalised department in a very supportive school.

This TimePlan client high school is a mixed Foundation School for 11-16 year old pupils which has held specialist Arts College status since 2002.

When it comes to learning the school states that “we realise that pupils learn in different ways, so we encourage them to recognise their strengths and preferred learning-styles. We aim to develop their confidence to take on challenges, thereby increasing their self-esteem and achievement.”

Pupils are encouraged to develop leadership skills through gaining awards in the Arts, in Junior Sports Leadership and in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

The pupils experience opportunities to work together, accepting compromise, to balance different interests and to aim for improvement in all that they do. The whole school accept that belonging to this school involves accepting responsibility and the willingness to serve other people. Staff are able to make use of all the latest technology and equipment in the school to help facilitate this approach.

The school would like to see candidates as soon as possible, so don't delay! Call David or Alan on 020 8518 3311 for further information about a trip to the seaside and a new English Teaching job from Easter 2012.
