Calling all Secondary Science Teachers!
We are looking for an enthusiastic Science teacher (Biology) to teach Core Science upto GCSE level commencing September 2012 for a High School near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
The successful candidate will have expereince of teaching all aspects of the Science curriculum and be a great all round Science teacher with a 'can do' attitude. Particularly emphasis is placed on candidates with a strong Biology background, however this is not a pre-requiste.
This small but popular high school is a mixed Foundation School for 11-16 year old pupils which has held specialist Arts College status since 2002.
When it comes to learning the school states that “we realise that pupils learn in different ways, so we encourage them to recognise their strengths and preferred learning-styles. We aim to develop their confidence to take on challenges, thereby increasing their self-esteem and achievement.”
Pupils are encouraged to develop leadership skills through gaining awards in the Arts, in Junior Sports Leadership and in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
The pupils experience opportunities to work together, accepting compromise, to balance different interests and to aim for improvement in all that they do. The whole school accept that belonging to this school involves accepting responsibility and the willingness to serve other people. Staff are able to make use of all the latest technology and equipment in the school to help facilitate this approach.
