Job Description
A special school in north Hampshire are looking for an experienced and qualified SEN teacher to assist with teaching at the school. Responsible for assisting with the development and attainment of pupils as this ASD focused school a good all round teacher with a creative approach to learning is important to this role however you will also have a fantastic knowledge of your specialist area. The ideal candidate for this full time SEN vacancy will be strong minded as the role is quite demanding but is extremely rewarding.
Experience in SEN is essential although refresher courses in first aid, child protection and a range of other specialist SEN training will be given. You will be expected to work closely with a full team of learning support assistants and will be responsible for the pastoral needs of the pupils. The school has a strong ethos and helps its pupil’s increase their attainment while taking into account each students individual needs.
A co-educational school specialising in the care and education of pupils between the ages of 5 to 19, who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. Children may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.
Close to Basingstoke, the school lies three miles from the M3 and is best reached by car, but can be reached by public transport.
