Job Description

TimePlan has a great Science teaching role in Andover! If you are looking for a Science vacancy in September, then please read on…..

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Science teacher in Andover. The school is looking for a Science Specialist to cover a short term sickness contract for part of the Autumn term 2012 on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be a Science specialist with recent experience of teaching science to Secondary or Upper Key Stage 2 levels. Previous experience of working within the independent sector (specifically within a Pre-Prep environment) is desirable but is not essential for this role. This full-time Science teaching vacancy will require you to work six days a week, so you would work full days for four days a week, and the morning only for two days. This sickness cover role will be for at least the first few weeks of term, and then on a week by week basis as the role demands. This is a great opportunity for a qualified science teacher to experience teaching in an independent school at a high level.

This is an independent Roman Catholic preparatory school catering for students aged 3 to 13 years. The school promotes self motivation and nurtures all students, with good SEN provision at all levels. There is a strong spiritual and moral ethos where pupils respect one another and are taught good values. Children are engaged through a variety of learning styles and behaviour is excellent.

Located in the beautiful Test Valley, this school is located to the south of Andover and can easily be accessed by car via Junction 8 of the M3. It is also a 35 minute journey from Andover Train Station (involving a walk/bus ride).

To apply for this Science teaching position in Andover, all applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

* Be UK qualified or hold a recognised teaching qualification;

* Have recent experience of teaching Science;

* Hold a current CRB;

* Be available for face to face interview;

* Commit to the full duration of the contract.

In return we offer:

* Competitive rates of pay;

* A designated Key Coordinator;

* Associated pay benefits, including a longer working day allowance, meal allowance and travel expenses;

* Opportunities to aid your professional development.
