A 'good' rated Ofsted school situated in between the Sutton and Croydon boroughs is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team in a 1:1 role in Year 6 starting as soon as possible. The role will involve working closely with a male pupil with behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who is confident and calm and ideally who has experience of working with behavioural challenges or SEN. The pupil in Year 6 does have the tendency to misbehave and disrupt the class, however, on the whole, is very well behaved. He just needs someone to be firm and clear with him and then he can be left to his own devices; this role has become available due to new funding for this pupil and the need for the pupil to have a reliable and consistent support present in the classroom to ensure attention is not taken away from other children. Someone who is proactive and passionate would be the perfect candidate for this role. The support staff at this school all work as a part of a great team and are a huge part of the school community and incredibly well respected throughout the school due to the invaluable support they provide. Each classroom has a full time Teaching Assistant, so the appointed candidate will be working closely with another support staff in the same classroom.
This school is incredibly passionate about the Arts and has a dedicated Music programme. There is the most beautiful artwork displayed on every wall of the school, reflecting the children's work, their reading and their passions. If you have a creative flair, this school would certainly be an ideal place to work as creativity is certainly something which is celebrated throughout the school.

The school can be easily accessible from all main transport links in Clapham Junction, Wimbledon, Kingston-Upon-Thames and London Waterloo. However, it is a bus ride from the nearest train and tram station so it is recommended that prospective candidates drive to the school- there is a wide array of free parking nearby. If you don't drive, it's only a short bus ride from neighbouring towns of Sutton and Croydon- it's a very brief walk from the nearest bus stop.

To succeed in your application for this role, please make sure:

  • you have a current DBS or are happy to obtain one
  • you have previous teaching assistant experience
  • you can commute to the Sutton area
  • you can commit to the role at this school from as soon as possible until at least the end of the academic year

In return, TimePlan can offer the successful candidate:

  • a competitive salary negotiated by ourselves with the school
  • access to our free and certified CPD courses
  • a key Coordinator to do all the leg-work for you
