This centre is located in new buildings on the outskirts of Southampton and caters for students with behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. Many students have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools or are at risk of permanent exclusion. Pupils range from 5 - 16 years of age and are supported in a number of ways to achieve their full potential. The ethos of this school is to "build bridges to positive futures for all pupils". Important elements in this are raising self-esteem, enabling pupils to take responsibility for their own actions, improving their attitude to learning, and teaching them to manage their emotions. Using a consistent approach in partnership with parents and carers, the school achieves positive outcomes to the benefit of the wider community. The recent Ofsted report found that pupils generally enjoyed their time here, and rated it "good" overall.
