The school is a mixed, non-denominational academy for 11 - 19 year olds. It has a highly multicultural catchment area with a high percentage of pupils speaking English as an additional language. Although, the number of pupils with special educational needs is above the national average the school runs a broad range of enrichment programs for both KS3 and KS4 to compensate for this.
