We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated Special Needs Assistant, specializing in Autism, to fill a day to day supply position in our supportive school located in Newham. Key Responsibilities
- Tailoring daily routines and education plans to cater to the individual needs of autistic students.
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to aid their emotional, behavioral, and educational development.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure students receive comprehensive care.
- Promoting inclusion in the classroom and encouraging students to engage in class activities.
- Contributing to a safer, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and meets student needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience or qualification in teaching or providing support within a special needs or autism-specific setting.
- An understanding of autism and techniques to aid the education of autistic students.
- An adaptable, patient, and empathetic approach to working with special needs students.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and a positive attitude towards all students.
- Valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
