Key Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to students' needs.
- Support students with special educational needs in their learning and personal development.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to help students build confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to promote each student’s wellbeing and educational success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support needs, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- A strong understanding of special needs education and strategies for supporting learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the diverse needs of students.
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to fostering student engagement.
- Enhanced DBS Check (required prior to starting the role).
