\n This is a secondary school in Southampton for pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, with Specialist School status in the Arts. They follow the full National Curriculum but with a particular emphasis on developing communication, literacy, numeracy and personal and social skills. Creativity and the arts have proved an extremely successful way of engaging young people and helping to promote their self esteem and self confidence. They work closely with the other special schools in the area, other agencies and with parents. Pupils benefit from an experienced and dedicated staff team who have skills in teaching the National Curriculum as well an understanding and empathy for the needs of young people with learning difficulties. The school benefits from many specialist facilities include sensory rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, IT suites, a new sports hall and a new Theatre.
